AFTA/PAN – RFP – 2019 Public Art Preconference Five in Five Presentations

Are you going to the 2019 AFTA Public Art Preconference in Twin Cities, MN? Do you have an extraordinary (or nightmare) public art project that you’d like to share? Or do you have a fun, lighthearted take on what we do and why we do it? And can you present it with five slides in five minutes?

If the answer is yes, and you like to stay up a bit late, apply to be a Five in Five presenters! This is a lively hour of public art camaraderie: a chance to meet up with old #PANpals or make new ones. First-time attendees are especially encouraged to apply! 10-12 individuals or teams will be selected. To present/ share/ perform/digress at the Public Art Preconference’s Five in Five Presentations! Visual Resources Association – Regional Chapter Meeting

The regional chapter of the Visual Resources Association is holding its fall meeting (see agenda below). The chapter includes digital resource professionals from universities and colleges across SoCal.  They encourage non-members to the tour and business meeting. MAKING IT PUBLIC: Workshops on Public Art Practice for Artists is a training series tailored to Southern California artists in pursuit of public art commissions. The Public Art Coalition of Southern California (PACSoCal) is a regional network of public art professionals. In response to the need for public artist technical assistance, PACSoCal has developed three sequential workshops addressing different aspects of the public art application, commissioning, design and fabrication processes as well as providing tips for successful artist-run business.
