The Public Art Director oversees the City of Raleigh’s growing public art program and is responsible for leading the development of public art across the city. The Public Art Director administers Raleigh’s Percent for Art program, the Public Art and Design Board and oversees the citizen-initiated project process as well as an expanding portfolio of temporary and experimental public art projects.

ELIGIBILITY: BA or BFA (concentration in visual arts/art history, or related fields); graduate degree in arts and/or related business field preferred AND At least 5 years of professional level experience in arts administration or related public art, gallery, corporate, architectural or design experience.

MIAMI, FL – Salary Position – Public Art Manager

This is advanced level professional and supervisory work involving the development, planning, and coordination, and administration of the City of Miami’s Art in Public Places Program. Work involves the development of policies and procedures that oversee the Art in Public Places Program, reviewing developer submissions, acting as a liaison between City departments and developers, and promoting the Art in Public Places Program. The incumbent must devise streamlined processes which will allow expedited review of art proposals and assemble standards and guidelines for developers to follow.

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission seeks a full-time Civic Art Program Assistant for its Civic Art Program, which works with emerging and leading civic artists, County departments and communities to create artwork, exhibitions, temporary art and event based programming for new and renovated facilities throughout Los Angeles County.

ELIGIBILITY: Candidates should have experience in a responsible administrative role, preferably with a nonprofit art organization or municipality working in a support capacity. The successful candidate will have knowledge of, or interest in, public art and contemporary visual arts; proven top-notch organizational skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; familiarity with design and photo editing software; and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, MS Word, PowerPoint, databases and Excel.

SALARY: This is a full-time contract position. The annual compensation is $31,000-$42,000 based on experience. Selected contractor will be required to have General Liability and Auto Insurance and must complete a Live Scan (criminal background check).

The Director of Arts and Culture (Director) will be engaged in planning, directing, managing, and overseeing all department activities and operations. The Director will initiate projects that address priorities in arts and culture, advocate for the arts, manage the nonprofit agency funding process, and support economic development for the creative sector. This individual will coordinate assigned activities with other city departments and outside agencies, collaborate with the San Antonio Arts Commission, provide support to the City Manager’s office, and serve as the City of San Antonio’s representative in all matters pertaining to arts and culture.

ELIGIBILITY: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in art history, public administration, business administration, public relations, or a related field is required. A master’s degree is highly preferred. Qualified candidates should have ten years of increasing responsibility and management in the areas of art and cultural affairs, including five years of administrative or supervisory responsibility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
