GLENDALE – Salary Position – Urban Art Program Administrator

Under the general supervision of the Director of Library, Arts & Culture (LAC), with general assignment allocation from other library administrators, this position facilitates city-wide cultural arts programs within Glendale. Based out of the LAC Department, the Urban Arts Program Administrator facilitates arts and cultural programming involving the Arts & Culture Commission. Realizes the vision of the City of Glendale Urban Arts Program Plan to make Glendale an arts destination and executes the current 2019-2020 Urban Arts Work Plan.

A key component of this position is the development, management and adherence to a programmatic budget that involves sourcing, identifying, applying and facilitating public & private funds, grant application/coordination, fundraising, as well as foundation and nonprofit facilitation, to support LAC and Commission objectives to expand the cultural arts within the City of Glendale.

The Urban Arts Program Administrator also works with developers, venue managers, artists/artistic directors, local businesses, City departments, the general public, and performers or exhibitors, to ensure programs and initiatives are successful and build community engagement.

ELIGIBILITY: Seven years of progressively responsible management/administration experience in the arts administration field including working familiarity with municipal arts programs and production-related technical requirements. Four years of experience developing and implementing grants and the funding management process. Background in management with strong fiscal planning, project management, budgeting, and grants management experience and working knowledge of a variety of cultural activities including performance, exhibitions, and not-for-profit management business practices.

SALARY: $42.54 Hourly. This is a part-time position
