SANTA MONICA – Salary Position – Cultural Affairs Supervisor

The City of Santa Monica is taking application to fill the position of Cultural Affairs Supervisor. The position will plan, develop, coordinate and promote cultural arts programs and activities; Administer one or more cultural program areas that include City grant programs to non-profit organizations, planning and coordination of special cultural events, management of cultural event facilities and public art coordination; Supervise, assigns and reviews the work of staff and/or consultants responsible for the implementation of assigned cultural arts programs.

The current vacancy focuses on the City’s Percent for Art (PFA) and other public art programs. Activities include: Managing new PFA commissions throughout the lifespan of the project, coordinating Private PFA projects, coordinating and overseeing the Annenberg Community Beach House exhibition program, overseeing the City’s public art collection, including conservation and managing the City’s Art Bank, a portable collection of artworks loaned for display in City facilities; managing temporary public art programs and developing new initiatives, based on the forthcoming Public Art Plan, which will be adopted in 2018.

SALARY: $79,428.00 – $98,064.00 Annually
