SANTA MONICA – RFP – Annenberg Community Beach House Call For Group Exhibition Proposals 2018-2019

In RFP on July 19, 2017 at 2:36 pm

Beach=Culture presents a year-round series of temporary exhibits, concerts, talks, readings and artist residencies at the Annenberg Community Beach House. Exhibits showcase the work of regional artists and artist groups – both emerging and established.

The City provides a versatile exhibition program that offers display space, an opening reception, optional additional public events, promotion and exposure to a wide variety of visitors to the Annenberg Community Beach House. For the public, exhibits provide a stimulating cultural counterpoint to the social and recreational opportunities at this country’s only “Public Beach Club.”

The Purpose of Beach House Gallery is to: Support artistic activity in Santa Monica; Open avenues for discourse between artists and the general public; Present unique perspectives and narratives that are intrinsically connected to the Beach House; Advance opportunity and professional development for LA County-based artists

ELIGIBILITY: Curators and artists must reside in Los Angeles County.

BUDGET: Small honoraria for artist talks, public events, music, etc. of $200/per presenter/performer are available and will be negotiated with city staff. The exhibitions themselves have no dedicated budget, other than the support we provide in installing and promoting the exhibition at the Annenberg Community Beach House.

DEADLINE: August 18th, 2017 at 10:59 PST
