INDIO – RFQ – 9/11 – First Responders Memorial

The City of Indio Public Arts & Historic Preservation Commission is seeking qualifications from artists or artist teams for the commission and installation of a site-specific, original, outdoor public art piece to honor the many victims of the September 11 World Trade Center tragedy. This work of public art will serve as a permanent memorial and focal point of the site that is to be located within a public art space located at the northwest corner of Jackson Street and Kenner Avenue, in Indio, California.

ELIGIBILITY: This opportunity is open to all artists and artist teams; all members of the team must be practicing, professionals residing in the United States.

BUDGET: The budget for this project is $100,000. This amount is inclusive of all costs, including travel, installation, permits, site restoration, insurance, and transportation.

DEADLINE: Friday, June 30, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.

QUESTIONS: All Requests for Information must be received by 3:00 P.M. Monday, June 12, 2017. Questions must be submitted no later than this time and submitted in writing to Les Johnson, Development Services Director, via email at: ljohnson@indio.org. Any questions submitted after this time will not be addressed.
