Next to the stairs is a flat area called the Garden of Peace and Love. In proximity to the location is The Coast Inn, former home to the Boom Boom Room. The Boom Boom Room bar played a historically significant part in Laguna Beach’s emergence as a hub for gay nightlife. Laguna Beach is a city that takes pride in its diversified and cultured community.
