SAN DIEGO – Salary Position – Airport Arts Program Coordinator II

Serving San Diego International Airport’s customer service and community-based missions, the Arts Program at SAN engages patrons with enriching arts offerings as a means to increase enjoyment of the travel experience for 21 million annual passengers while serving as the cultural gateway to the region. Under general supervision, the Arts Program Coordinator II will coordinate the curation of temporary art exhibitions and performing arts programs. The position will be responsible for working with local and national artists and arts organizations to provide curatorial assistance while coordinating administration of loan agreements, artist contracts, artwork installation and performance schedules, among other responsibilities. A successful candidate will have expertise in public art programs, civic and/or non-profit environments, talent sourcing, and reoccurring arts programming. Additionally, a successful candidate will have experience in creating editorial and social media content, including writing/editing copy for descriptive calendar listings, e-communications, web pages, online photo/video documentation/curating, and print publications.

ELIGIBILITY: A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in art, art history, arts administration, performing arts, media arts, art education, public administration or a closely related field, and four years of progressively responsible professional experience involving the coordination of public arts programs and projects similar to those administered by the Authority; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid California Class C driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability under the Authority’s Vehicle Insurance Program.

SALARY: $62,450.00 – $99,969.00 Annually
