CHARLOTTE, NC – RFQ – 25th Street Bridge

The Arts & Science Council (ASC) is accepting qualifications from professional Artists or Teams of Artists in response to a public art opportunity for the City of Charlotte’s 25th St. Bridge. The 25th St. Bridge originated from the City of Charlotte’s Northeast Corridor Infrastructure Program (NECI) planning effort. It will connect 25th Street over Upper Little Sugar Creek, and improve connectivity between North Brevard St. and North Davidson St. Concepts for the 25th St. Bridge include two travel lanes, bike lanes, curb & gutter, sidewalk, a planting strip and street trees as well as on-street parking. This will then improve accessibility for pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular connections to the proposed 25th St light rail station as well as promote economic development by providing infrastructure to support and encourage transit supportive development.

ELIGIBILITY: Professional artists who have experience managing, designing and completing public art project commissions over $55,000 within the past five (5) years are eligible.

BUDGET: An amount not to exceed $124,000 is allocated to include all artists’ fees, design, fabrication and installation.
