AMERICANS FOR THE ARTS – RFP – White Papers on Public Art

In 2016 Americans for the Arts (AFTA) Public Art Network (PAN) began the development of an online portal and content development projects designed to organize resources, develop tools and provide information on topics relevant to the public art field today. As part of this process, AFTA/PAN will commission a series of up to five white papers on best practices in the development of a public art project/s or supporting a public art program. We are looking to you, our members of PAN to provide input into the subject areas that will be addressed by these papers.

White papers for Americans for the Arts are typically 4,000-5,000 words that include an executive summary, review of the topic and two case studies in support of the topic. Images with appropriate photo credits are encouraged.

Authors and topics will be selected based on recommendations from the PAN Council. Applicants will be notified by the end of June of the results. The deadline for completed papers will be November 30th, 2016. The launch of the project is scheduled to correspond with the Public Art Preconference in June 2017. Funding for the white papers is supported until the end of 2016.

BUDGET: The complete budget for each paper is $2,000.
