TRUST FOR PUBLIC LAND – Creative Placemaking Program Director

The Creative Placemaking Program Director will be the lead manager, advocate, ambassador, and internal advisor for a newly expanded and enhanced creative placemaking practice within the Parks for People Program, defined as our work in cities, at The Trust for Public Land. The goal of the Creative Placemaking Program Director is to successfully lead a measurable program that expands and supports the practice of creative placemaking in key organizational initiatives and in the communities in which The Trust for Public Land works. The Director must serve as a subject matter expert in the field, as well as demonstrate skills in structuring and growing a new program within a geographically distributed and maturing urban program.  The position may supervise a small team of national staff as the program grows. Frequent travel and a flexible schedule are necessary. The position of the Program Director will report to the Senior Director of ParkCentral & City Park Development.  We are open to placing the position in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, St. Paul, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver or Washington, DC.
ELIGIBILITY: Minimum 5-10 years professional experience in arts & culture, public engagement, and community development, including significant leadership experience; Degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, architecture, public policy, art history or art administration, advanced degree preferred; Available for significant travel (up to 25-35%); additional qualifications listed on RFQ.
