CITY OF HAYWARD – RFQ – Library and Community Learning Center (4 opportunities)

The City of Hayward has undertaken the design and construction of a state-of-the-art, 21st Century Library & Community Learning Center facility and the restoration of an historic civic plaza/arboretum. The project is currently in the design development phase. Groundbreaking is anticipated to take place in August, 2015. The library facility and historic plaza/arboretum will be energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable to meet or exceed LEED Platinum certification standards. Among other sustainable design features, the new library facility will include a significant array of photovoltaic panels to meet the overall project goal of achieving Net Zero Energy certification. The principal project architect is Noll + Tam Architects, with landscape design by RHAA Landscape Architecture + Planning.

ELIGIBILITY: Professional artists or artist teams residing in California, Oregon and Nevada with experience in the design, fabrication, and installation of public artwork are eligible to apply. These experienced public artists must be familiar with and skilled at working with art consultants, architects, designers, contractors and clients; i.e., project teams.

BUDGET: 4 project budgets range from $58,000 to $100,000.
