LOS ANGELES COUNTY – RFQ – Hall of Justice

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission Civic Art Program seeks to commission an artist or artist team to create an artwork or series of works that distinguish the Hall of Justice as one of the most significant historic buildings in downtown Los Angeles. The Hall was built in 1925, shuttered in 1994 after the Northridge earthquake, and is undergoing a major renovation. The Hall will serve as the headquarters for Los Angeles County’s Sheriff Department and the District Attorney’s offices.

ELIGIBILITY: This commission is open to artists or artist teams who reside in Los Angeles County.

BUDGET: An artwork budget of $750,000 has been established inclusive of artist fees and all costs associated with the design, fabrication, structural engineering and installation of artwork.

DEADLINE: Submissions must be received at or before 5:00 pm, Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Wednesday, December 19, 2012.
