CITY OF SANTA CLARITA – RFP – City Hall Bike Racks

The City Hall Bicycle Racks is an Art in Public Places program by the City of Santa Clarita.  The bike rack design should have high aesthetic merit, function as a bike rack, and be able to support and secure at least five bikes.  In addition, the rack design should consider overall safety, should require low maintenance, and be durable. The theme of the City Hall Bicycle Racks project is Bicycle Travel.  Artwork should be developed that celebrates this theme, as well as attempts to encourage bicycle transportation.  Artist may submit up to two proposals for the theme.

ELIGIBILITY: The project is open to all artists in Los Angeles County, regardless of race, color, religion, natural origin, gender, age, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental disability.  Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines.

BUDGET: All selected artists shall be awarded $1,500 for the execution of their artwork, which includes the artist design fee, project-related travel, consultation throughout and project fabrication, and other artist-related costs. Installation and site preparation costs will be paid by the City of Santa Clarita.

DEADLINE: Application materials should be received no later than June 25, 2012.
